According to the record of the earlier investigation on animal ecology resources in Hsueshan and Tapachienshan areas and the site investigation on farm animals, they can classified into the following categories:
Division of Zoology:
In Wuling Area animal ecology resources include Yuhina Brunneiceps, Blue Back Tit, Trucan, Regulus Goodfellowi, White’s Ground Thrush, Alcippe Morrisonia, Brown Dipper, Phoenicurus Fuliginosus, Bufo Bankorensis, Rana Sauteri, Rana Swinboana, Atrophaneura Horishana, Byasa Polyeuctes Termessus Fruhstorer, Firefly, Muntiacus Reevesil Micrurus, and Mandarin Duck. According to the results of the animal resource investigations from late August, 2005 to the end of November, 2005, there are the records of 28 kinds of insects, 4 kinds of amphibians and 19 kinds of birds in this area. Besides, 150 samples has recorded 147 kinds of birds, in which 12 species of birds accounts for 85.7 percent of endemic species in Taiwan, from bird’s database of Wild Bird Federation Taiwan for past three years.

Division of Bontany.:
High altitude is the Wuling Farm’s suitable for the growth of Taiwan Endemic Cherry Trees, Prunes Campanulate and Prunes Taiwaniana. Furthermore, Acer Morrisonense Hayata, Liguidambar Formosana, Green Maple, Eriobotrya deflexa, and other plants can be seen everywhere in the area. Moreover, it has quite many and related such plants as Pinus Taiwanensis Hay, Quercus Variabilis Blume and Rhododendron Hybrida. According to the results of the plant resource investigations from late August, 2005 to the end of November,2005, there are the records of Ferns ( 8 families and 24 species), Gymnosperms (3 families and 5 species, Dicots (56 families and 161species) and Monocots (7 families and 15 species). And plant resources are quite rich in the area.

Historical Relics
Chiang Gong Chateau
Chiang Gong Chateau, one of Late President Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Song Mei-Ling reposing places, was constructed in summer, 1968. Its arrangement was simple and equipped with three rooms, a dining room, a kitchen, a living room and a writing room. The bodyguard residence was located in the right of Chiang Gong Chateau and its appearance retains original condition. Late President Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Song Mei-Ling were planted plum blossoms which called the King and the Queen in front of Chiang Gong Chateau and the bodyguard residence.
In early period, the veterans gathered local materials to construct stone room architecture of the three-section compound to furnish cultivators living together and operated production. In order to provide the tourist to testify development process, Wuling Farm has established Farm Cultural Relic Consulate to present the veteran pictures of opening the land up laboriously, farm tools and life cultural relics. |

The Site of Chichaiwan River
Chichaiwan River, is located in west-south side piedmont of Wuling Recreation Farm. In 1997, Lin Yi-Chang, the researcher of the institute of history and philology in Academia Siniac, accepted Shei-Pa National Park request to survey the prehistorical relics at the upstream of Da-Jia River and aboriginal activities in early days. He discovered that Chichaiwan River is the relics of Neolithic Age at the highest elevation and potteries at the highest position in Taiwanese region. He started excavation work from 1998 to 2001.In order to preserve those cultural relics, Wuling Farm has placed them into the second floor in Wuling Hotel. |
